With the 80th anniversary of the famous Seaboard Air Line train, I poked around and found a few sites connected with it. Rouse and Wise apparently were inspired to write the song by the new streamlined version of the train rather than the earlier steam-powered version, though the song definitely evokes a steam locomotive, not the blatting diesel horns of the day. You might get a little tired of hearing the electronic version of the song on the above websites, which is also heard on several RR websites. |
