The Flimsies piece below mentions the 1950s British movie "The Titfield Thunderbolt", one of a very few films about railway preservation. http://www.wiltshiretimes.co.uk/mostpop ... tation.php Does the railway line it was filmed on still exist, or did it succumb to the Beeching axe? |

One of my msot favorite movies! I had read that the line was dismantled, but the station was being restored as a museum. How I'd to have that on DVD! "I didn't pay my fare to become a beast of burden!" JKB EDIT- Here's some links- http://eis.bris.ac.uk/~liserc/tit.html http://homepages.which.net/~gordon.dudm ... ield2.html |
