Post subject:  Lehigh Stone saddletank update

This locomotive was originally a Vulcan saddletank that worked for the Lehigh Stone Company in Illinois. In the 1960s, it ended up on the relaid trackage through the Doe River Gorge in Tennessee, the former ET&WNC narrow gauge line. For this use, it received an oddly-constructed boiler, that never steamed right and lost its saddletank, with equally odd lead and trailing trucks applied to make it a 2-4-2. In recent years, it has been owned by Ken Riddle, who was part of the revival of that re-abandoned trackage in the Gorge. The odd boiler has been scrapped and the chassis has been taken to the Tweetsie RR shop in North Carolina for repairs. Photos here:
