Post subject:  Edwards Company

It has come to my attention that there is a rumour going around out in the Folsum, Ca. area that our firm is no longer in business due to mechanical problems with the car we built for West Virgina Central. It is true that there were a few transmission problems, however they have been worked out and the M-3 is operating in scheduled service and even, to the customers request, was used to buck snow last winter. Edwards is not only in business but has recieved the bid to restore an original Dallas streetcar for McKinny Avenue Transit Authority, and we are working on several other projects. I believe that the problems we had with the M-3 stem from the fact that we did not stick with tried and perfected Edwards technology, instead we took advise from the people who sold us the engine to use a transmission of thier choice. As we say here at Edwards, we are NOT smarter than the guys who desigend and perfected these railcars 70 years ago, and we shall never stray from that again. So for who ever is interested Edwards is still in business and we have expanded our line of cars to include "gas-electric" as a means of propulsion over the mechanical drive system, we also take in restoration work as well. We will have the B&SE No. 500 at the convention and hope you all stop by and say hello.

Post subject:  Speaking of the B&SE..

As you have the former Birmingham & South Eastern railcar and Valley RR's 'ol 97 came from the same line, I'm wondering if the B&SE itself still exists? If not, when was it scrapped out?
