Would anyone know the length of the turntable at the Sioux City MILW roundhouse? This group's web site doesn't mention it and I have never gotten an answer from them when I ask.

The MRHA note on the Sioux City, Iowa roundhouse says that the facility includes other buildings including the only wooden sand tower known to still exist. Is this true?

I seem to recall a very lengthy and detailed presentation at a TRAIN convention show and tell session by a representative of CATS who explored the repairs made by the Friends to a wooden sand house and tower there. The history of each individual board, including the botanical gentic code of the tree it was cut from, nail, and hammer that drove one down to spectrographic analysis of mineral content, was completely exhausted in the talk.

I assume that means there's one there.

There is also most of a wooden sand tower remaining at the last-extant D&H roundhouse at Rouses Point, NY.
