Subject of the movie, Matewan, WV, on the N&W. Scene of bitter 1920 miners attempt to organize with the UMWofA. The depot is said to now be gone.

When I saw the movie (not all that bad a flick) I got a chuckle that it was filmed at Thurmond on the C&O rather than the actual town of Matewan, where I assume the N&W facilities were gone. Now that I see the photo, I’m surprised how similar the layout of the actual town is to Thurmond. It appears that the N&W in Matewan also ran down the ROW of the main street, with the building fronts more or less lined up along the track.
