I will beg, borrow or whatever for an equipment roster (current or all-time) of the recently defunct Kettle Moraine Railway. Post, anyone?

Also, what was the association of owner Richard Hinebaugh with Mid-Continent? Were the 2 DL&W "Boonton" steel coaches formerly at Mid-Continent prior to the start-up of the Kettle Moraine? Just curious; if anyone wishes to share, I would be most grateful.

I believe there were three ex-DL&W "Boonton" coaches on the train but since I rode the caboose, it is possible that one of the coaches might have had a different origin.

The Chicago Great Western locomotive is a former McKeen car that was rebuilt to be the power car for the line's "Blue Bird" train of rebuilt McKeen cars.

A year or two ago the Nevada State RR Museum bought the locomotive. The loco has become a parts source for the Museum's restoration of the V&T McKeen car. The rear (trail) truck will be used on the restored car. The people at NSRM have said that the body is contributing other parts to the project..

Additional equipment that was on the property last weekend were two wooden cabooses (one appeared to be former Milwaukee Road and another center cupola car). A former Soo Line baggage RPO, former CB&Q suburban coach lettered "Waukesha Western" from the depot restaurant at Waukesha, WI, heavyweight baggage car of NP or GN ancestory and a wooden coach. There is a wooden combine (carbody only, no trucks, etc) which is sitting on the ground at the west end of the property and used for storage. I believe someone earlier mentioned the other locomotives - the disassembled 2-6-2 and the 65 ton GE centercab diesel. The wooden coach which was with the W&OV 4-6-0, is inside the shop building. I believe the number on it is 799. Hope this helps although it is not too specific.

When I was up there the last weekend of operation the car behind the outside frame boxcar (open-air car) had UPRR stamped on the trucks. Though they could have been switched out. It was a combination coach.

I know for a fact that Steve swapped trucks on some of his cars, so do not go by the casting marks on the truck pedestatls when figuring the provenance of his cars.

If I recall correctly, CNJ combine 300 was purchased by the Quakertown & Eastern excursion group in Pennsylvania during the 1960's. While the rest of their ex-RDG coach fleet was sold in 1974, with much of it now at Spencer, this was the only non-RDG coach they owned.

I do not know the exact coach number, I just recognize it as being one of that series of car; basically a CNJ 10-1100 that is a combine. However, the Private Passenger Car Annual for 1980 list the three coaches as CNJ 300, DL&W 573, and DL&W 583.
