Watch the forums at trainorders.com. They're really good about stuff like that. The PR man from UPRR even participates.

The Challenger 3985 moves have been posted for weeks on this website, you only needed to look in the Timetable. This was the last day of the moves so I deleted it tonite.
Cursing will not get you close to steam engines, but paying attention to what is at your disposal might.

In addition to John Bromley of the UP's Pulblic Relations Department, another regular on trainorders.com is Bob Krieger of the UP Steam Team. He is also a regular in their chat room, as recently as Sunday night.

I had a post on this board on October 17, asking for Challenger schedule information, and John Bromley posted a response the same day.

Well I thought I was keeping myself informed. Im not blaming anyone here but myself, Im just mad at myself for letting this even come this close and go without me realizing it.

I read this forum, railfan board, steam forum, as well as alot of other steam sites and I never thought an event that I could attend could pass me up. This is how I learned of the 844 run out of Houston a few years ago that was cancelled, but I had tickets...and the Big Easy steam train..
I just hope I dont miss anything else. You guys up north dont realize theres no big steam down here.
