She's stored outside Tacoma for the winter. The open question is will they be able to find somewhere to operate that has at least a reasonable chance of being successful in the marketplace? Last seasons product of a slow ride (15mph) through urban blight to a non-destination for $50/head was a resounding failure(average ridership approx.40 people) so it's difficult to believe they'll repeat that fiasco.
Time will tell.

And in double deckers with sealed windows, with a diesel up front. Just like riding on the MBTA but 65 MPH slower.

It stands to reason that they still either need to find all the plates that recently were stolen off of her in storage, or make new ones...

I was thinking the other day, why don't they try to run her from downtonw Olympia? Storage could be done in the wharf yard, leave from downtown Oly, run up to the old NP mainline. There's a tunnel and lots better scenery than through Tacoma. Nobody runs that line through the weekends.
But then again, I'm sure they probably already looked into that...

I've got a good location......Locust Summit, with the 02 behind her......in my dreams.

In 2007, this operation has taken on some new partners and has big plans to start running dinner trains, etc. They are out looking for equipment right now.

Not to diminish a crime, but none of that stuff was original anyway, and would be fairly inexpensive to replace.

Per the GPRR website they plan to resume operations on May 1st. The route and/or destination isn't actually specified but it pretty much implies the same route as last year.

New versions of the "Reading" plate etc. should be cast by the time operation resumes.
