Hello all, In to-nite's episode of "The Office," entitled Business School, the character Pam Beesley has a gallery showing of her illustrations. Of the 5 (or so) pictures, there were two buildings - the Scranton Business Park office/warehouse home of Dunder-Mifflin (and Vance Refrigeration) and the Scranton Delaware & Hudson freight house. It was nice to see at least some recognition for an underappreciated form of industrial architecture. Tom Cornillie |

The show is so "Scrantonian" that the characters have mentioned the Steamtown Mall in passing at least once that I've heard....... Seriously, as someone who grew up in part watching Scranton/Wilkes-Barre TV stations, it's scarily true to "home"--I even freaked out at the "Froggy 101" radio station bumper sticker on the one computer monitor......... |

The show does a good job of bringing Scranton to the world in a detail-oriented way. Someone on the staff knows da'valley well. Of course, the DandH freight house is in thousands of homes across the country in miniature in the form of Walther's Water Street Warehouse model railroad kit. Rob |
