I recently responded to an inquiry on SLRX reefers and confidently presented info on several cars owned by Pennsylvania Trolley Museum. Oops. All three of our cars carry SRLX marks. Oh, so similar and so easily confused. Our SRLX (Swift Refrigirator Lines) cars are 50' mechanical cars 25043 and 25046, both built 6/54 and 40' ice car 15405, built 5/54. PTM acquired these in the early 1970s. They serve as storage facilities and are not part of our accessioned collection. Speaking of such cars, PTM also owns URTX 40' wood sheathed insulated boxcar 26571, built 9/31. This is also for storage only, but is presently being prepared for transfer to a new owner who will restore it. The URTX car was lettered for Libby's at one time but that logo has weathered away.

I see I wasn't the only one who booted the SRLX/SLRX matter.

As a RYPN board member and a regular interchange user I appreciate the posting of corrections. Corrections will be of greatest use to future researchers when they are posted with the original thread. While it is obvious now as to what thread your post refers to - this will be far less clear to future readers.

Hi Dave,

The error seemed obvious from the beginning of the thread but nobody seemed to care.

Perhaps my comments/corrections were too gentle?

Cheers, Roger, the caboose guy
