I see the concrete pads for the track. Will the present dirt floor also be poured concrete?

There are currently 4 ribbons of concrete which have rail bolted to them. The two remaining will be poured by our contractor during periods of poor outside weather (we got a great price for being sort of fill in work.) Since the carhouse is planned to be a storage facility and not for tours or restoration work, we will only be paving (conrete is likely) the first 50 feet or so of each end of the carhouse, but those discussions and planning are still ongoing. We have not decided what surface will cover the ground between the track pads. Thanks for all of your kind remarks, we can't wait to occupy, but there are a few more things that the city would like to see before that can happen. Our next big project will be a 200-space visitor parking lot, hopefully installed before November. Gotta love Thomas the Bank Engine.

Rumor has it that if it rains tomorrow, crews will begin excavation for our last two 600-ft concrete track pads. Preliminary work on them was begun this past weekend. With the switches currently completed in the yard in front of the carhouse, we actually could run rail to the bulding for two of the six tracks. In order to connect the other four tracks, two more switches need to be fabricated.

The best part is that we haven't had to borrow to keep the project on track.
