http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zv-sX-J_2Po VERY interesting 1920's newsreal of New Orleans. After a little history, you get steam trains getting on ferry's, paddle wheelers, unloading banana boats, and whole trains loaded on ships for Cuba. |

The scenes that showed the freight cars being loaded onto the ocean-going ship reminded me of a photo of a West India Fruit Steamship Co. boxcar that is in one of my books. Are there any books or other writings on this interesting long-distance rail ferry company? |

I noticed a glimpse of a Pearly-Thomas streetcar, which would date the film post 1919. The biggest sternwheel steamboat featured is the excursion steamer Capitol. This is really rare footage. |
