OK, after 9 years of RyPN I need a break, so I am stepping down as Editor. Doug Bailey is taking my place, and he hopes to start clearing out the back log of stuff I have been forwarding to him. My last official contribution as editor is the Sammy King Mexicano del Pacifico article. Want to say thanks to Sammy for his SIGNIFICANT contributions over the last few years, and whenever we post anything he writes it shows up big time in the hit counts. Also want to say thanks to Erik Ledbetter and Bob Yarger. These two, in addition to myself, were basically the reason there is an RyPN. There are a lot of other thank yous due but too many people to think of and list here, and risk offending the ones I left out, so I will leave everybody equally offended. But, none the less, thanks to all the people who contributed briefs, articles and editorials the past 9 years, plus all the people who helped and continue to help with various site functions. This is especially true of our Interchange/Classifieds moderators, John Cloos, Randy Hees, Kevin Gillespie and Andrew Martin; and leave us not forget our Flimsies admin Boyd Owens. Moving on, Doug Bailey is, again, taking my place and will be Webmaster in addition to Editor (as well as a Board member). Doug is a well credentialed train lover and also an IT professional, as opposed to an amateur, and I look forward to good things from him. We couldn't ask for a better person to take it over. But, he can't do it by himself. The flow of material has slowed recently, haven't heard from some our of regulars lately, so I ask you take advantage of the new regime and send your news reports, briefs, articles, etc. to Doug. Also serving RyPN are our other Board members Tom Cornillie and John Smatlak. I will continue to serve RyPN as Treasurer. Thanks for the memories. |

Thanks Hume for your leadership and efforts on a daily basis. And that Sammy King article was a great finale! (The tequila advice was a hoot!) Wesley |

As most of you know, steaminfo=Doug Bailey. I'm happy and excited at becoming the briefs and articles editor, and more than a bit intimidated. I would like to point out one thing: I am NOT as good a writer as Hume is, and thus ask your forebearance as I get this all figured out. I don't intend to change anything. I will be emulating Hume's style, both visually and editorially, to the best of my ability. Comments, criticisms, and flames are always welcome. You can email me at dbailey@rypn.org or PM me. Regards, Doug |

Congratulations, Hume, and thanks for a great site. For the next six months, anything that goes wrong WILL be blamed on you (but then you know that, being an engineer). Doug: does this mean we get Smilies? ;) JAC |

Hume, thank you for creating a website that I enjoy perusing several times daily. Don't be a complete stranger, and keep posting. Doug, as a Moderator, I look forward to working with you. |
