Looking good and under cover in Nashville last year: http://rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=539231 This looks like a professional job. Was the asbestos removed? Anyone have more information? Very similar to the NdeM 4-8-4s, like the 3028 here in Mexico, DF: http://rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=48488 |

Compared to photos I took of this loco in November 2004, I see no indications of the asbestos having been removed. Looks like they just painted her. |

Bob, I think the 3028 is at New Hope, PA for an EXTENDED rebuild. Could it be 3038 in Mexico City? |

The asbestos was removed in 1997. http://www.ncps-576.org/576/news_7-1997.htm I plan on seeing that NdeM engine run. I figure it's as close as I'm ever likely to get to seeing a Dixie run. |
