Post subject:  Planning on Reprinting an 1886 NY&NE Book

Guys,

I recently came across a great copy of the 1886 NY&NE RR `A book of Useful Information in regard to the Cities and Towns on its Lines’, and I am planning on having it professionally reprinted. By the year, you can tell it was printed shortly before the line became part of the NYNH&HRR.

All proceeds will go to the Connecticut Eastern RR Museum in Willimantic, Ct. The price we are looking at is $20-25 each, and I was wondering what the demand might be. Let your opinions be known, as this will decide whether it gets printed with a spiral binding or a perfect bind (the way the original was made, with the cover wrapping over the binding), spiral is cheaper for small runs.

Here are the specs on the book:

103 pages of town and line info
7 data pages
28 Illustrations
26 pages of Ads

Lines covered:
Mainline Division - Boston, Ma to Newburgh, Ny
Providence Division - Willimantic, Ct to Providence, Ri
Norwich Division - Worcester, Ma to New London, Ct
Springfield Division - Springfield, Ma to East Hartford, Ct
Woonsocket Division - Newton Heights, Ma to Woonsocket, Ri
Valley Falls Branch - West Wrentham, Ma - Valley Falls, Ri
Southbridge Branch - Worcester, Ma - Southbridge, Ma
Rockville Branch - Vernon Center, Ct - Rockville, Ma
Melrose Branch - Sadd's Mill, Ct - Windermere, Ct

On the pages for the Divisions and branches, there is data on each town on the line, including distances from end terminals, and travel time to the ends, and in the case of the Mainline, there is also the time and distance to Hartford, Ct.

The data pages have the following info:
Each town:
-Chief Industries
-Amenities (Hotel, Post Office, Telegraph, Express, & School)
-Populations
Officers and Directors of the NY&NE
Stats of each Division:
-Mainline Track Length
-Double Track Length
-Siding Length
-Status of each line (Owned, Leased, Running Arrangements)

P.S. If you are on one or many of the other groups this was placed on, sorry for the extra bother.
