I am looking for the dates of the article "Boilers The Heart of the Matter" by the late Jack Anderson, in "Railroad and Locomotive Preservation"

Thanks,

Aaron

This was originally a four part series that stretched into nine parts. The numbering system was changed after the first seven issues to just continue sequentially rather than by volume.
Part I is in Vol. 1, #5, Nov.-Dec. 1986 p. 15
Part 2 is in vol. 1, #6, Jan. -Feb. 1987 p. 44
Part 3 is in Vol. 2, #1, Mar.-Apr. 1987 p. 47
Part 4 is in #9, July-Aug. 1987 p. 55
Part 5 is in #10 Sept.-Oct.1987 p. 44
Part 6 is in #12 Jan.-Feb, 1988 p. 45
Part 7 is in #14 May-June 1988 p. 33
Part 8 is in #17 Nov.-Dec. 1988 p. 37
Part 9 is in #19 Mar.-Apr. 1989 p. 42

It would sure be great if that info could be combined into one publication and reprinted. There is some excellent stuff there that would be useful to many steam railroads.

I don't know who holds the copyrights etc, and I'm guessing it would be a difficult task, but it's a great resource.

I know many people encouraged Jack to write more, but he was too busy doing the work to spend too mcuh time writing about it. I was one of the lucky folks who worked with Jack, and he was definitely one of the finest.

Agreed Bob - I thought I was pretty good at doing a lot with a little until I worked with Jack.
