Thomas J. McNamara, well-known rail photographer and rail photograhy partner of the late Kent Cochrane, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2007. He was 80 years old. Tom and Kent did a remarkable job of capturing the New Haven Railroad on film during the 1940's and 50's. Kent was a master at Black & White, while Tom was known for his excellent color work and use of telephoto lenses, which were rarely used by anyone else, at the time. Much of Tom's work was showcased in the Morning Sun Books "New Haven Trackside", published in 1998. |
