Is that first image a "Turnerized" version of the same later B&W photo? The color photo looks like two-tone blue. Doyle's nee-ATSF (sigh) version is blue and white. I kinda prefer the two-tone blue, but I am well aware that my preferences count for very little in any matter that I not breaking my back and wallet for. Anyway, yes, I admire the incredible work that has been done in piecing the PA in Portland back together. The nkp190.com website was recently updated with new photos. Does the Smithsonian even remember they own the other one? |

It could be colorized, but Alco did take some color builder's photos also, around this time. |

The color photo was used on the cover of an Alco Historic Photos catalog, so the shot is indeed 'real.' Dave |
