Received news and photos from the West Va. Central and the WMRHS that Western Maryland Railway coach 835, long in the custody of the RR Museum of Pa., is currently en route from Strasburg to Belington, WV for restoration and use on the West Virginia Central. The car was loaded on a highway trailer yesterday and is reportedly sitting in Harrisburg over the holiday weekend, scheduled for arrival in Belington late Monday. One truck carries the trucks and accessories, the other the car itself. "The route is supposed to be from Harrisburg I-81 south to I-70 west to I-68 west to I-79 south to rt 33 to rt 250 into Belington." |

Very interesting-- suprised to see something as nice as this being deaccessioned. I always had the impression (based on conversations with previous Executive Directors there) that nothing was going to leave the Museum. Anyone have information as to this move, and why? |
