The attached link has a news story about a break-in at the East Troy Trolley Museum and the subsequent grafitti damage to several of their cars.

Boy, what I'd like to do to these guys if I could meet up with them.

Perhaps the trolley museums should electrify their fences. If a couple of punks get a good jolt, the word might get out that it's better for them to do their damage elsewhere.

Same thing happened to us over in Willimantic, Ct, a little under a month ago three pieces got `tagged'. Good to hear the Community has come out to help, we have been debating if doing more then filing police reports would help, since these delinquents do this stuff for bragging rights.

So far (with a little more to do) it has cost the Ct Eastern RR Museum about 48 volunteer man hours, 4 gallons of Acetone and a bulk pack of paper towels to clean up, what probably took less then 1 hour for the 4-5 delinquents to do. Luckily 2 of the cars hit have stainless steel siding (SPV 2000 and MBTA 2591 (NYNH&H 8695)) and Pfizer SW-8 which has an industrial paint finish, probably Imron, so the Acetone is safe to use without damaging the paint.

Anyone else have good or bad reports, about bringing this type of happenings out into the open (more or less vandalization, more or less costly incidents, etc...)?

Hopefully the Trolley Museum was able to use a heavier/harder paint then what the vandals used, so the total damage is minimal.
