I've heard nary a word about the Royal Hudson 2860 public excursion that took place on BNSF over the weekend. This is the first public trip after the overhaul. Any news, pictures or a web site for info? I've googled. The WCRA site has no real information. It would seem to me that this would justify some discussion in the preservation community, as it is not an easy task to mount mainline steam excursions these days.

Here's a shot-

I'm surprised there wasn't more on this board about the event, in addition to 3751's outing, and 4449 returned home as well.

Out west is the place to be!

Apparently the 2860 was not allowed into the US to be turned on the wye just south of the boarder. There was speculation on trainorders that the engine was missing some type of valve to allow operations in the US. Anyone know the truth of the matter?

Does anybody know why the Canadian Pacifc letterins was blanked-out on CP (WCRA) FP-7 4069?

I have also wondered why preserved CP equipment on BC Rail (and now in WCRA's collection) such as 2860 aren't labeled for CP. The 3716 on BC Rail had a blank tender. I could understand why BC Rail wouldn't want to letter its equipment for another RR, but why wouldn't WCRA? Does CP not let them?

leagel issues probably. When the b&LE was around, they wouldn't allow the 643 to be lettered in their name.

Yet 2317 in Scranton is lettered as such, as well as CN 3254.
CN 6060 stays as CN.

For the record, BC Rail no longer exists-having been absorbed by CN.
