The linked thread gives up the bad news with pre-scrapping photos. Erie diner #2999, moved last year to become part of a restaurant, has been scrapped.

Actually, this was one of four Buffet-Parlor-Diner's that the Erie had, each one slightly unique. They spent much of their EL years on the far tracks at Hoboken.

The sad part is, contrary to the article, there were several people willing to save this car. We were working with one individual in northern NJ who had a private siding and a willingness to move and restore the car. No one knew of the sudden change in plans until the car was completely destroyed - even the trucks were cut up.
