After seeing Bob Yarger's photos of B&M 3713 and GTW 6039 that were taken by Rev. Dr. Richard Leonard at Steamtown while it was in North Walpole, NH in the early 1960's, I thought everyone would enjoy seeing a link to his entire steam collection.

His own ministry and that of his father before him took him near a wide variety of steam locomotives in the 50's and early 60's. The Holy Spirit works in strange and mysterious ways, and all of us are blessed with the opportunity to view the photo collection at this web site: http://www.railarchive.com/.

His photography was quite impressive, comparable with Steinheimer and Hastings, as evidenced in this 1957 shot of UP 4023 at Laramie, with the ancient original roundhouse still standing in the background:

The good news is that Richard Leonard is still very much alive and photographing trains. We became on-line friends after I sent him a couple of minor corrections on UP steam power. He lives in Northern Illinois, and is still photographing trains.
