Very very unfortunate, and in the midst of restoration. Sounds like there's some hope though.

What a shame. It's apparently not a total loss, but as the article says the restoration cost will skyrocket now. If anybody can pull through on a restoration setback like this, it's our British brothers.

Cutty Sark might be interesting to some because it has a wrought iron frame structure with wood planks overlaid.

Do insurance rates increase when a large wooden structure is under restoration? Does the risk of fire actually increase? In the DC area, in the past couple of years, Prince George's county lost a 100+ year old court house to fire during restoration, and more recently the Georgetown library and Eastern Market (albeit this fire apparently wasn't related to the restoration) landmarks in DC were torched.
