Thank you all for the input you have responded with. Before you get the wrong idea about me, I ask these question as my ongoing learning experiences in this field. I ask these questions because I am asked these same things by other people and sometimes I dont know the answer, other times they are my own questions.
All of the steam books I have never discuss reviving/restoring.

Thanks for asking. A bit of what you ask about is still happening here and there by those who don't ask and it is nice to see these questions, truly gratifying to discover that, at least on this list, there is a consensus to do things safely.
