Not much to look at, but could be a source of berth hardware, trucks, drawbars, whatever. The car appears to be an ex-tourist car. See it at:

If the Lot number 4565 in the photo is correct and the CB&Q reporting marks are also correct, then it is one of 6 Pullman cars built in 1920, converted to the tourist configuration in 1941-43, and sold to the CB&Q in 1947. From a practical point of view it appears beyond reasonable hope of restoration.

Normally I would agree with you, but after seeing the pictures of the resurrection of Yosemite Valley 300, anything is possible. Let's all hope for the best.

Yes, and after seeing what was done with the wreck that was Yosemite Valley #300, perhaps there is hope for the last surviving NKP wooden passenger car. Perhaps Jack could give us an update on it.

Car 54 is still waiting for someone to come along and save it. The way that's going we might actualy get enough money for a building and put what's left of it in there before someone takes it. YV300 did look worse before hand.
As much as I would love to do it myself, the well know problem of so many projects so little time holds true here as well.

More from the man who has done extenmsive work compiling the Pullman records at the Newberry into a database:

"Former Plan 2410F 12-1 TALISMAN, delivered 6/21/20; converted to non-AC
Tourist Car 1159 on 9/9/41. Sold to the CB&Q on 10/12/47 and converted to
work car 250259.
Tom M."

I wasn't suggesting that someone buy it to restore, heaven knows, there are enough other basket case Pullman cars around. But, if someone has a car missing some sections, here is a source of parts.
