While perusing old issues of the Steam Passenger Service Directory (1977-1980), I ran across several curious entries for the Algoma Railway in Wisconsin:

"The Algoma Railroad plans to introduce steam motive power as soon as possible" (1979, pg. 140)

"Clint Jones, President of the Algoma Railroad in Wisconsin, advises that they will be operating for freight service over a 35-mile ex-Milwaukee Road branch line this year. He hopes and expects to offer passenger service in 1981." (1980, pg. 6)

Various Steam Directories list the Algoma as having operated an RSC-2, an Alco S-4, and an Ingersoll-Rand/GE unit, on their excursion trains.

My questions are as follows:

-Who was the previous owner of the Algoma Central (was it a Milwaukee Road branch line or ex-C&NW)?
-Was the "steam power" that was planned in 1977-1980 supposed to be Clint Jones' former Copper Range No. 29 and coaches that formerly ran on the Keneawau [sic] Central?
-When did the Algoma Railroad finally shut down? Why did the operation never pan out? Where did the equipment go and where are they now?

I believe Clint Jones has started another freight-only operation in this area. Anyone know anything about it? I believe he still owns some F-units and two ex-BAR BL2's but don't know if any of these are part of the new operation.
