Post subject:  GC? Steam locomotives observed in transit

Observed Monday afternoon at The Dulles, Oregon, were two steam locomotives and tenders on four flatcars in the middle of the Union Pacific yard. One of these was carrying the number 18 on its dome and very nicely painted and lined. Other wise these two could not readily be observed from public roadways.

Believe that these were the two being shipped from the Grand Canyon.

The new TRAINS magazine in the Preservation column has the dope on the many locos being moved in the west. I believe you are correct on these two.

These would be the GC #18 and #20.
