there is a long and interesting article in the Spring 2007 Railway Museum Quarterly about moving the GGRM collection to the Niles Canyon Railway for storage. Some of their equipment went to other museums and private owners.

But what about the GGRM itself? Do they still exist as a 501(c)3 organization? Is anybody looking for a new site to store and operate their trains?

Glad you liked my article.

Yes, GGRM is still an active organization. I believe they are searching for a new permanent home, but I am not part of their group, so I can't speak with any real knowledge on that, just what I've heard from some of their folks.

Is chair-car 'Montgomery Street' still parked at the entrance to the former Hunters Point location??
