Post subject:  Pullman Carpet Patterns

With all of the technology available these days, getting custom carpet patterns is a relatively nominal expense. So, that leads me to my question... Anyone got a decent representation of the so-called "Fern" pattern? Or, even better, artwork for said carpet? Also, many Pullman heavyweights had a distinct carpet pattern, as currently seen in Dover Harbor and Clover Colony (reproduction carpet from France, as I recall). Was there a name for the pattern and same questions as the Fern pattern q's?

Thanks,
Mike

I personally saw the original Pullman sample books in the care of the C&O Historical Society for the 1950 car order; they included samples of the blue, green, and red versions of the carpeting. As-new the colors are much more vibrant than what we are used to seeing!

My 1950 C&O car has now been donated to SRI in Owosso, MI, where the worn out originals carpets are still in the car. Between C&OHS and SRI, a motivated and funded individual has all research needed to do the job.
