A Breezer for N.O.R.M.

The Northern Ohio Railway Museum has acquired an open trolley car. Cars of this type had the nickname breezer due to their open air design. This and other information is in an article in the Medina Gazette. Here is a link to the story.

The newspaper story reported that the car originally came from Rio de Janiero in Brazil, but from whom did N.O.R.M. get the car?

I belive this was the car formerly at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, number 1774. It was made surplus with their acquisition of the other former Rio car that came to them via Orlando.

Truly a win-win situation. NORM got an open car, PTM got a much-needed carbarn space.

The Rio open, #1774, was originally acquired in 1965 from Rio by Railways To Yesterday, Inc. d/b/a/ The Rockhill Trolley Museum and subsequently sold to the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum.
