Some very recent photos of this former USATC 2-8-2. Looks like they have removed the asbestos lagging at least. http://picasaweb.google.com/Popeye8762/ ... 7230210834 http://picasaweb.google.com/Popeye8762/ ... 1849033506 http://picasaweb.google.com/Popeye8762/ ... 7877921586 http://picasaweb.google.com/Popeye8762/ ... 1021907778 http://picasaweb.google.com/Popeye8762/ ... 4554520418 http://picasaweb.google.com/Popeye8762/ ... 6223670130 http://picasaweb.google.com/Popeye8762/ ... 4116021138 The photos loaded slow for me but you may have better luck. I've always liked the look of these engines, though they were found too slippery on the White Pass. These USATC engines operated on nearly every continent in the world and some in India ran into recent years. The WP&Y engines were 3' gauge, but most others were meter or 42-inch.
