Thanks to this great site I had the chance to chase 6 on Saturday from Gowanda to South Dayton. If I knew a little more in advance about this trip, I would have made plans to ride it as well but we had family in from out of town and it just was not possible on such short notice.
The engine looks GREAT!!!! If there was ever an engine I would call cute, this would be it. Strong..... well, I think the owner is going to have to restore his other tank engine soon so they can double head. :) They came out of the station where there is a good grade and with only two coaches that engine was at full throtle but at a snails pace. They brought a dismal out to give a boost in the rear but once they made it over the hill the dismal stayed back a bit and let the steamer get a good workout.
I hope this works out well for all parties and that this can continue.
To those of you that know the owner of the engine please pass along a big thank you from me. Let it be known that I would not have been there if it wasn't for the steam locomotive and I would love to ride behind this engine - we just need a little more notice.
I heard about a few road trips this engine may take and it sounds like a promising future for the locomotive, please keep us posted on future events like this!
thanks,
Matt

Glad you had a great time. Nice pictures. That is a cute little engine. And it trailers on a lowboy almost anywhere. I believe its purpose it to travel the country eventually. Those guys did a beautiful job in a fairly short period of time. They had quite a bit of help from a lot of good people, too.

Congrats to American Viscouse 6 and its crew on it's first excursion.
Ya'll should be very proud!!
