Does anyone know of any B&A rolling stock that survives today? I know of the B&A Horsecar at Essex, and the 4-4-0 in one of the midwestern museums, but what else is out there?

The Whitewater Valley Railroad owns suburban coach - Boston & Albany- New York Central #1135 built by Osgood Bradley. This car was sold to the Delaware & Hudson, and later to the New York, Susquehanna & Western as #212. The WVRR purchased this car from the Cadillac & Lake City RR. It has recently received new wheelsets, substantial repairs to the vestibules and just a week before our Day Out With Thomas event, it had its final topcoat of Imron Pullman green.

I doubt ours is the only one of this series to exist.

I believe there is a B&A mogul, once at Edaville, whose last location was "restoration to operation" at Cape Code Railroad. Anybody know what happened to it after Cape Cod quit?

Oh, and of course there is 3713 at Steamtown.

Hey Steven, you're thinking B&M.

What was the D&H number of that car?

The WVRR car was built in 1925, NYC Lot # 969 Osgood Bradley Lot # 7965
as B&A 335. Renumbered in 1937 as NYC 1135. 1955 it became D&H 212, 1961 NYS&W #212. We presume that the Cadillac & Lake City bought it from the NYS&W, but we do not have information to confirm this.

David -

Three different road numbers! What number does it carry on the WV?

The Gettysburg Railroad had a Pullman-built coach #564 that was ex-B&A/NYC #2511, later LA&L #2511, according to a roster Jim Cornell gave me ten years ago. I don't know if the car is now used by the Gettysburg Scenic Railway or was sold off.

Les,

Internally, we call the car coach 6, but it will carry the 1135 number on the car and the New York Central lettering as it did in 1937.
