According to steamlocomotive.com, Strasburg has a 4-6-0 #972, a DJ10 from CPR that is being restored. Any word on when that will be worked on much less operational? Also, they have listed an unknown 4-4-0 on site as well. Does anyone know anything about this engine either?

dammit, let me get to bed.......

The 972 is George Hart's ex-CP 4-6-0. last in use at Jim Thorpe years ago. The legend in well-placed rumor grapevines is that had the loco sent to Strasburg for needed repair work, but that between declining fortunes at Jim Thorpe and delays to repairs and/or payments, some arrangement was arrived at that allowed the Strasburg RR to take possession of the loco. There are allegations that there are plans/thoughts/dreams of rebuilding the CP loco with a PRR-styled Belpaire firebox, but.............

The "4-4-0" is likely a supposed narrow-gauge 4-4-0 replica that is being built for a well-heeled client. I'll let any Strasburg folks chime in if they wish to confirm or deny this and previous rumors.
