I deleted a poll and thread about whether 1361 would run again under the current management of the Railroaders Memorial Museum. The question in the poll is an attack on the competence of the museum's management. Things are obviously at a very sensitive point. We on this board who are dedicated to railroad preservation do not need to throw gasoline on a smoking fire.

Let's wait until Scott Cessna makes the report he has promised to make.

Thank you. The K4 is only one of the fires they have been fighting, mostly with success, for several years now. As many of us can testify, working on several long-term crises of various priorities under the most intrusive political situations, things take as long as they take and cost what they end up costing. Simply getting a few competently concluded is noteworthy - accomplishing them all is almost impossible.

I'm pleased to wait for real information from those capable of reporting it accurately, when they have something real to report.

Agreed! This is one of the most loved locomotives in the country, and making the owner/operators job more difficult is blatently unnecessary. You are to be commended for your action.

Yup, a "lot" of Monday morning quarterbacks.

If some of these folks put as much effort they do into slinging it as actually lifting a finger, well, maybe we wouldn't have so many rusting hulks around.

Now where did I put those marshmallows?

I completely agree that we should all reserve further comments until Mr. Cessna issues his report next week.
Constructive critisism is a healthy thing and should be always welcome by open minded folks. Lord knows I've recieved my ample share over the years and have tried hard to benefit from those who have offerred constructive comments even when I was in substantial disagreement with their position/point of view.
I'm sure there will be ample opportunity to respond to Mr. Cessna's report and I look forward to reading it carefully!
Thanks, Ross Rowland
