In Middletown, NY: Middletown Railroad Day 2007 The Ontario & Western Historical Society PRESENTS Middletown Railroad Day Sunday, July 29, 2007 Middletown Senior Center 62-70 West Main Street Middletown, New York 9:00 A.M – 4:00 P.M. Admission Is FREE But Donations are Most Appreciated. Celebrating the fifty years of enthusiastic remembrance of the Middletown based New York Ontario & Western Railway since it ceased operation on March 29, 1957, the Ontario & Western Historical Society will hold its second annual "Middletown Day," as above scheduled: There will be displays of historical significance and the opportunity for discussion with noted NYO&W Ry. authorities and authors: Marv Cohen – Author and Historian From The Middletown Historical Society. Robert E. Mohowski – Associate Editor of Railroad Model Craftsman. John Taibi – author of numerous books and articles about the O&W. Ron Vassallo – O&W Historical Society Webmaster. Former O&W employees………as in attendance. Sales tables for hardware and historical artifacts to be sold by: Ontario & Western Railway Historical Society. Middletown & New Jersey Railway Historical Society. New York Susquehanna & Western Technical & Historical Society Private vendors – models, artifacts, new & used books and periodicals. Collectors of Ontario & Western Artifacts. Drawings and original artwork by Carl Ohlson, longtime railroad artist, scholar and teacher. Books and scale models and modeling materials by Alan F. Seebach – proprietor of "Old & Weary Car Shops" and manufacturer of Ontario & Western scale models Scale model diorama displays by: Joseph Bux – including his stunning diorama of the Wickham Avenue Depot. Mal Houck – author and modeling contributor to the Ontario & Western Historical Society Website – displaying a scale diorama of the Monticello Depot and railroad yards. Charles Breiner – displaying Garden Railroad "G-Scale" O&W models and an O&W milk train. Displays of Ontario & Western artifacts, hardware and collectables by noted collectors Carl Ohlson and George Shammas (President of the Ontario & Western Historical Society). Rich Cobb; Master Model Builder. Rich's scale models grace many a layout and diorama around the country. *On The Big Screen* Power Point presentation by author and historian John Taibi on "Fifty Years of Remembering the O&W"." Power Point presentation by Doug Barberio, educator and historian on the "Middletown Branch of the O&W". Presentation of the DVD "NYO&W On Film" by Ron Vassallo. This is the just released DVD "The NYO&W On Film" by the O&WRHS and it is roughly 3 hours of rare O&W Film, Employee Interviews and Music. Ron will be showing about an hour of this DVD. Refreshments will be available for sale outside of the Senior Center. The Middletown Senior Center is located at 62-70 West Main Street, Middletown NY 10940.
