B&O #600 - JC Davis Injector?

Post subject:  B&O #600 - JC Davis Injector?

One of the most enjoyable things about RYPN are the mechanical and operational lessons provided by the experts.

Today, while visiting the B&O RR Museum, I noticed the following rod on the fireman's side, connecting the rear driver to what appears to be the injector on B&O 600, "JC Davis", 2-6-0, 1875 (Mt Clare Shops):

It there a name for this type of injector, did modern engines ever have anything similar? BTW, the Davis is behind plastic panels awaiting restoration from the President's day storm incident. Her cab was completely crushed.

This is a mechanical water pump - you usually see them running from the crosshead instead of from the rear driver.
