Heard a rumor about this locomotive being removed from it's long time display across from the world of coke(or former location of world of coke if the new facility has been constructed)
Just curious...can't imagine where it would have gone.

Rumor on the Parktrains group is that the locomotive (a Crown Metal Products 36 inch gauge 4-4-0 from the Frontierland park in Florida) was looking rough and has been scrapped. I hope those rumors will be proved wrong.

This engine was on display at the hotel in Jefferson Texas; another Crown from Frontierland is operational on the Jefferson & Cypress Bayou Railroad in Jefferson.

I sure hope that rumor proves incorrect. Last time I saw it was a little over 1 year ago, and it was needing some paint, but certainly not so bad as to be scrapped.

I too doubt it was scrapped, I saw it recently and it was in decent shape. As for it's prior location, it used to run at Six Gun Territory at Ocala, Florida. I actually saw it running before the park was closed in the early 1980s.

I too hope it shows up somewhere. If I learn anything, I will post the news here.

Two months ago it was sitting in its usual place in Underground next to the old World of Coke. If I get a chance I may try to ride by after work tomorrow to see if its still there.

Just received a message from a friend in Atlanta that it was still there as of last week. Apparently, there is some uncertainty about its future. As I was told: "Better photograph it while you can."

Andrew, I see you were sent the inquiry by Charlie. Any idea as to who actually owns the locomotive? Any preservation interest at SERM?

I saw the locomotive Friday when transfering from the Marta train to the bus to make the Braves game this past Friday night.
