Post subject:  Ex-Virginia Central equipment - Staunton VA

Just wondering if anyone out there has contact info for the current owner (a Lady whose name escapes me) of the former equipment from the Virginia Central Railway. The equipment, 2 CPR pacifics, a diesel, a bunch of coaches, and other misc. items. The stuff is all stored in Staunton Virgina, and I had all the info, but it was lost about a year ago. If anyone can fill me in with a contact please let me know.

It's not in Staunton anymore. The owner's family name is Showalter, and it is/was the daughter who had taken over from her father, Jack. The last time the equipment was used was, I think, Fall '93 for a couple of trips from Charlottesville to Clifton Forge. I don't know where the equipment is, but the yard it was kept in is now the offices and shops for the Buckingham Branch RR Richmond and Piedmont Division, which took a 20 year lease on the CSX Piedmont Division two years ago.

I think the equipment is now in Verona, VA, on the Shenandoah Valley Railroad. In October 2005 and 2006, the passenger cars were used for weekend fall foliage excursions, but there are no excursions scheduled for this year.
