Good YouTube piece on homemade railcars in Cambodia, made mostly of bamboo. A larger, mechanized version of the little pole-pushed cars in Guatemala.

Fascinating video, Bob. It reminds me of my visit to Wulai Falls in Taiwan during my R&R from Vietnam in 1968. In those days the rail service was muscle power uphill. On the return, the "pusher" rode behind operating a lever break as the chair car coasted. Now the line appears to use all gasoline-powered equipment.

On that line in Taiwan. Is it 30-inch gauge?

Hi,

Well, we went from Cambodia to Taiwan, so how about Peru, which also has impresive scenery.

I'm thinking of a trip to Peru for this winter and wonder if anyone here has been there and can share some advice, on or off RyPN?
