Anyone interested in buying a Lehigh Valley Railroad caboose should check out this listing:

I just posted this for my boss. The caboose is located on Penn Eastern Railway in Pennsburg, PA.
I will be posting a Pennsylvania Railroad B-60 Baggage Car in a day or so.

It's being reported on TrainOrders.com that the East Penn Ry. (where these things were stored) has been sold, with the (railfan) management evacuating to Kennett Square, Pa. and one of the locos (GP7) en route to the Stourbridge Line. Any confirmation?

I agree this would be a nice addition to the Juniata Terminal fleet, but I can just hear Brother Levin hollering heck at me again, so I'd best shut up......

The description says tightlock couplers, but the detail photo of the coupler didn't look like what I think a passenger car tightlock coupler looks like. What am I missing?

Further down on the page a correction was made regarding the coupler. Don't know where my head was when I was typing the description other thaen I was in a hurry, I had to leave within the hour for a dinner engagement, and I still how to shower and change!

That "Redbird Express" tag is history itself on that car.

The car was last Penn Central 7573, renumbered from PRR 9312 at some point in the 1970's. It is pictured in Penn Central green with white lettering in Kinkaid's Penn Central Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment (ISBN 1-878887-84-X Copyright 1998 Morning Sun Books). Apparently, Penn Central took the roof vents off during the mid-1970's, along with disabling the messenger equipment (took out the water tank, stool, removed the sink fixtures and the lavatory door). The car is equipped with Pitt couplers. Pennsburg, the southern terminus of the East Penn RR had a "Hobo Days" celebration annually, so the hobo markings date back to the late 1990's and early 2000's, but are still interesting, from a cultural point of view. Perhaps, more information to follow...
