No. 69 at Pittsburg, 9/5/59: http://abpr2.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi? ... 6/ds69.jpg The 0-6-0, 10/12/58: http://abpr2.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi? ... 6/ds72.jpg I think the tank engine still exists, but can't remember where (Florida?). The 0-6-0 is labeled 72, but looks like the sectioned engine at Steamtown, which was supposed to be Duquesne No. 8. Anyone have more details? |

The tank engine went to Pennsylvania Trolley Museum in 1964. B&O Glenwood shops did some work on it before delivery to the museum in 9/65. It operated there a few times, but interest waned and it was sold in 3/87 to serve as a billboard for a shopping center in FL. Originally USS American Bridge Div. #12 at Ambridge, PA (61559, 11/30), sold via BR&L to DSCo in 1943. The photo shows it at the B&O station in Pittsburgh, brought there for display during 1959 NRHS convention. The 0-6-0 was originally Spang Chalfont & Co. #8 and Duquesne Slag never changed the front number plate. It is indeed the engine now sectioned at Steamtown after several more owners after DSCo. |
