Found this on one of the websites someone else linked below. As far as I can tell, it is at South Anderson, Indiana in 1960.

Is it just me or is the photo distorted? The drivers are egg-shaped (too tall vertically), and 999 looks too short based on other photos I've seen.

The wife and I were at the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago this past week and I can tell you that the 999 still looks absolutely great. On an explanation plaque next to it, they have a photo of the engine (or another 4-4-0) taking water from water pans. I tried to look at the underside of the 999's tender and couldn't see how a water scoop could possibly be located there. But perhaps the tender is a later substitiution. Maybe added when the engine was rebuilt with the smaller drivers she now carries. But maybe I'm wrong and the scoop IS there. I guess J. David would know. How about it Mr. Conrad?
