Anybody heard any recent news about Reading 2100 and its pal the clean two or more owner F40PH that never (no not even once) pushed a steam locomotive up a hill? The Golden Pacific Railroad website is still steaming along offering steam/diesel (diesel/steam?) excursions followed by a "sumptuous" banquet. MX |

The 2100 moved several months ago to a shortline several hundred miles inland from Tacoma and has been stored there since. Word on the street is that there is a long list of creditors looking for Tom Payne&Co. for invoices dating back to the dead on flatcar move last year and from other vendors for services rendered during the 2006 Tacoma program. To the best of my knowledge no one from Payne&Co. (GPRR et al) has issued any official statement and their only visibility has been the totally out of date website. Ross Rowland |

Fascinating, could it be that all that bunch of stuff on their website was just a "bunch of stuff"? What secrets will be revealed next? Is it possible that the F40PH really WAS being used to help push the 2100 up the hill? Or that the sumptuous feasts really weren't very sumptuous after all? MX |
