Pics would be great, so if any of you have any advice and pics that you'd be willing to share, I'm all eyes!

I'm going to be installing 3 of those old-type WRRS "hanging" gate lamps on a vintage crossing signal. You know, the type on the J shaped bracket that hung down like little lanterns with Dressel lenses.

Each light has a 2-lead cable coming out of it. My main question is, how were these wired on the gate?

Did the three cables (for the 3 lamps) all run paralell along the inside of the gate to be joined together before entering into the gate mech?

Were they tied and tapes together along the gate with only one cable (which by that time it got to the end would be a THREE-lead cable) going into the mech?

Was there some kind of small junction boxes on the gates themselves between the lights?

Can anyone help me out here?
