One of the RS3s currently threatened with scrap at the former D&H shop site at Watervaliet, NY. It is former Delaware & Hudson, but I'm not sure of the original number. http://abpr2.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi? ... anColl.jpg |

Might be a great source of parts to restore ex-LIRR FA power cars. |

The 4126 is in fairly good shape with thin wheels and an electrical problem as the only known defects. The locomotive was stored in running condition. There are efforts under way to acquire this engine by several parties. |

I know something of the loco. It WAS in fairly goodly shape when laid up many years back. Can anyone imagine CP bending over backwards to move a locomotive with thin wheels ? With the cost of RTO 752 combos these days, not exactly an inconsequential defect !!! 'Electrical problems' never seem to get better as time passes, especially on Alcos :-) Good luck !!! DPK |
