The Greater Victoria Electric Railway Society is holding a meeting tonight in Victoria, BC, concerning the announced cessation of service on the Esquimalt & Nanaimo Railway on Vancouver Island. Current operator Rail America will cease service on this line at the end of the year and the Budd cars of VIA Rail will stop in March. The group will discuss possibilities for continuing rail service, or at least to maintain the track and right-of-way until operations can resume. bobyar2001@yahoo.com |

This meeting will be held at the Pacific Forestry Center on Tuesday, December 11, 2001. The Forestry Center is located on Burnside Road, between MacKenzie and Interurban.
