From Carolina Rails: The North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer will be hosting an excursion on November 3 & 4 to Charlottesville, VA. These trips will be operated by AMTRAK, using vintage passenger cars. There will be 3 locomotives and 22 cars. The trips will depart both days from Spencer at 7:00 AM, arrive in Charlottesville at 12:30 PM, depart Charlottesville at 2:30 PM, and arrive back in Spencer at 8:00 PM. Coach tickets are $125 (724 seats), Premium First Class tickets are $215 (180 seats), and Dome Car First Class is $240 (68 seats). First class includes continental breakfast, lunch on your own, and dinner on the return trip. The train will unload at the Charlottesville AMTRAK station, adjacent to many restaurants and a shopping mall. Tickets will be available starting Monday, September 17 by calling the museum at 704-636-2889 ext. 227. You can call toll free as well at 877-NCTM-FUN. You may also purchase this tickets through the gift station at the museum Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Any tickets ordered after October 26 will be held for Will Call. All passengers must exhange tickets for boarding passes, so please plan to arrive by 6:30 AM. For additional questions, please call the number listed above.
